The Treasury was a very impressive collection of gold artifacts, paintings and jewels from the centuries of Aachen history. The most impressive pieces are the bust of Charlemagne and some of relics of the Virgin and Our Lord. Definitely worth a visit! The combined Treasury...More

Some beautiful items are on display. I bought the English tour book (audio guides are available too) and that really helped explain what I was seeing.

The treasury of the Aachen cathedral is full with gold reliquaries and other sacral objects. The gold and silver bust of Charlemagne is really amazing!

I visited Aachen as part of my personal "Monuments Men" tour. Very glad I made the trek. Collection includes fabulous items and relics from Charlemagne / Karl de Grosse, the king that united northern Germany. Although he's been dead >1200 years, he's still considered one...More

This is a very small museum of medieval "treasures" of the cathedral. There are multiple golden reliquaries (with Charlemagne's head and arm bone?!), and lots of other Charlemagne things. Truly a must see before or after you tour the cathedral.

Really an amazing place crammed full of Charlemagne's riches! Every floor is filled with the treasures of the city, and there are also busts of Charlemagne himself with some of his remains inside such as arm bones and a surprisingly fresh looking cranium. Don't miss...More

The descriptions are only in German so if you don't speak German I'd strongly advise getting the audio tour. Really a wonderful description of the collection and easy to use/jump around the exhibit. Wouldn't have been as wonderful without the audio description.

I've been to a lot of treasuries and expected an experience from this particular one. Have to say that it never failed. Very nice exposition from garments and books to monstrances and paintings. Also not very large, but the price of 5 euros seems like...More
