Some people would ask whether it Bonn Minster (Bonner Münster) is a church or cathedral. It used to be a cathedral for the Archbishop of Cologne but it now it has Basilica status. It is imposing and grand as it stands at the heart of...More

Not a cathedral, but still beautiful! It's free so it's definitely worth the trip. Some places are off limits to tourists.

If you are into history, this is the site for you. Bonner Münster is one of Germany's oldest churches, having been built between the 11th and 13th centuries, but its origins go much further back: excavations beneath the crypt located a “Cella Memoriae”, which had...More

It's in one of the main squares and has a number of protrusions on the outside that are worth looking at from different angles and different light. The gallery is especially nice (and I noticed a similar one on grosse kirche in Cologne). Inside is...More

This church is right in the center of old town. Nice piece of architecture. Interior is tranquil. Worth a stroll.

This church was a real hidden gem. Positioned next to the Saturday market there was a great deal of hustle and bustle outside, but inside there was the peace you would associate with a place of worship. Much of the iconography was beautiful though I...More

This is very nice church in centre of Bonn close to Beethoven statue, it has five towers. Lying in the open plaza on the east end of the basilica are large sculpted heads of the Roman martyrs Cassius and Florentius, the patron saints of Bonn.

It's old but amazing how people have been taking care of it. The two heads on the floor are interesting. On the left side of this church, I found the Beethoven walk and the relief of Bonn's history.
