Massive on the inside and a very imposing structure that is in great need of cleaning up on the outside. Wonderful stained glass windows. Very noisy with little effort to respect the sanctity of the place.

An extremely admirable piece of architecture loaded with history from all ages (from the 12th century when it was built to WW2 where it neared devastation). I really wished that the building was cleaner and less dark. There have been attempts in cleaning this building (as there were several light patches on the building)

Long way up, but on a clear day views great, stairs a bit tight on first long climb, spiral staircase nearly wide enough for two to pass, with visitors going up and down. Even on a cold day you get quite warm going up. Worth the 4 euro charge.

Only saw the cathedral from the outside but it was magnificent and well worth seeing. There were far too many people queuing to get in and there was no real sense on whether they were visitors or attending a service, signs were very limited. We attempted to enter twice but much too busy.

I like old stuff. This place is not only old, it's beautiful and HUGE! There are all kinds of graves in there for a creep factor for kids too, and the crypt is open so you can walk down into it. There's a museum as well, but I think it was closing by the time we got there. It took... More

Visited here years back on a German exchange with school but was too young to appreciate it. Unfortunately on this occasion we were in Cologne for the Xmas markets so didn't have as much to e in the Cathedral as we would have liked. But from the time we did have, it was amazing. A very imposing building and the... More

We happened to be there when there was a mass going on Sunday morning, which made it magical. The architecture of this magnificent structure will wow anyone. The craftsmanship of the statues outside is astounding. It's free! Very easy to visit. I would do this again.
