There are fundamentally two types of museums, with either a focus on the physical artifacts, or a focus on the underlying history with the physical objects (and a heightened level of modern museum technology) supporting the story being told. This is very much the former,...More

The mosaic floors were just beautiful and amazing to see. There were many other artifacts but little information or signage. I would have rated this 5 stars but the staff was not helpful at all and they seemed really grumpy. It would have been nice...More

This museum shows how Roman empire was all over Europe, and the influence they had in the modern world of today. It shows how delicate they were in their art. The Dyonysus mosaic was created around 220AD, A must place to see in Cologne

Pretty interesting Roman culture and artifact museum located near the Dom. Wide variety of surviving Roman statues, masks, glass, inlaid floors, housewares, weapons, tools, etc. Well worth an hour or so of your time.

Grumpy staff who demanded that I left my handbag in an open cloakroom area and charged! I protested but to no avail. Makes no sense whatsoever especially as the cathedral allows people to walk about with suitcases. I offered to let them examine my bag...More
