A short walk from the cathedral into old town, this magnificent church is well worth a visit. It is located fronting the Rhine River with its majestic looks. A walk around the perimeter of the church is well worthwhile as well as a visit to the interior. So much history and so much to see at this church. Do not... More

The reconstruction of this church has left a stark, bare and beautiful space. You get to imagine what it must have been like just after it was originally built. Currently the church is cared for by a catholic religious community. If you can go to one of their services. I was there at 1230. They sing beautifully and the sound... More

It's the second most famous and beautiful church in Cologne. The square is the most colorful in front of the Rhein. Amazing from the inside and the outside. It's a must.

While it is difficult to ignore...our tour guide walked past this church and stopped at the nearby statues of Tunnes and Schal instead. Later...walking back to the river on my own... I couldn't resist a quick stop. After visiting the Dom in the center of town I was immediately blessed by the quiet simplicity of this church. Very glad I... More

Like many others, we stumbled across the church whilst walking along the riverbank. It is very modern looking inside, but has very interesting little objects like the brass sculptures in the walls of the 12 stations of the cross and a gruesome but intruigingly beautiful statue of Mary holding Christ's body taken down from the cross. You cannot approach the... More

This was one of the fist places we came across while we were talking a stroll in the town. Just a picturesque view of what old German towns look like.

On our city tour we stopped by this church and the outside was as amazing as the inside. It is located a short distance from the river and the walk up to it inspires many beautiful photos as it is nestled right in between some colorful buildings. The inside of the church is peaceful and has many lovely architectural highlights... More

This is a lovely landmark church, located in the old town, by the river. While not being the most beautiful church in town, its sheer height is impressive enough. Make sure to go over to the other bank of the river to take obvious photo of the huge cathedral and the church.
