I strolled around the old city- but at 3 degrees celsius it was too cold to enjoy what the city had to offer. However, scenery is very nice and pleasant.

Loved this — it’s small but cute to walk around. Lots of restaurants and beautiful architecture. Would recommend.

Germany does do Xmas markets so well. The market in the Altstadt is a great place to start but there are seven spread over the old town as well as just on the fringes off it. Great public transport system.

If you like historical places then the old town is for you. Easy to walk around and plenty of places to stop for coffee. Close to Christmas markets and city centre with more glamorous shopping. Check out the Schloss tower too.
