There are three houses that fall under the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen banner, this one on Grabbeplatz 5, is known as K20. You can, as I did buy a combined ticket for K20 and K21. A free shuttle is available to transport you from one museum to the other. K20 collection features modern art and it's a good one. Highlights included their... More

Surprisingly extensive and delicately presented in a beautiful building. A place you have to visit when in Düsseldorf

Firstly, it seems there are all kinds of pictures and reviews of the K21 mixed in here. They are completely different and at opposite ends of the city! The K20 is the main gallery and has one of the best collections of early 20th Century German Expressionism you will see. If you're into this kind of art, which I am,... More

Day off and Look where I go. I was expecting really big place with a lot offers but not so interesting. U can see everything in 15 min. It's museum but this show was not so in showing too much. Maybe I'm not expert in this but really, 7 visions for 15 min in big space.

I visited this museum to spend a relaxing mid-summer afternoon. The exhibition of Andreas Gursky photos was well organised and interesting, even if there weren't a lot of pictures. The section dedicated to '900 paintings was nice but not so exciting, there aren't famous artworks even if the artists are well known. The highlight of the visit was the temporary... More

Not a huge fan of modern art, but I very much enjoyed this collection. The special collections were brilliant, the regular collection was distinguished, and the staff were very helpful (they were also quite polite when I unknowingly overstepped bounds...twice). I have a new appreciation of 20th century art. Highly recommended.

Please have a look at the building picture I attach: That's the REAL museum. The picture of the building in Trip Advisor is the building opposite the museum. I hope they'll correct it now! This museum is one of the best Modern Art museums I've ever been to. Both the running exhibition (2066 in k20) and the museum's permanent one... More

Düsseldorf may not be the top 3 cities in Germany, but the art scene is very different. If you like modern and contemporary art, K20 and K21 should be in your must-visit list. I particularly like K20 because of the architecture and the collection. Many 20th and 21st century works of famous artists you can enjoy. The staff may be... More

K21 is in my top 20 of contemporary art museums. The museum is highly varied, the installations great, the space is very luminous and art is of great level. But just 3 stars because of the staff. The guards follow you at every step, I never saw that before, you can't really experiment what you see because they stalk you.... More

The Kunstsammlung is divided over two locations, K20 in the center and K21 south of center. A free shuttle service brings visitors from one to the other location. K20 has paintings, many by famous artists, such as Picasso, Miro, Roy Lichtenstein, Max Werner, Jackson Pollock, and Magritte. K21 has other kinds of art. The highlight is the net hung under...
