The "wondrous" aspect of this bridge that spans the Elbe is its construction. It is one of the first steel suspension bridges in the world requiring no supporting piers in the water.

The Blue Wonder is interesting from a historical perspective. We took a tour bus ride across the bridge. It is better seen from the street or along the bike trails of the Elbe.

This bridge build a the start of the 20th century survived the bombings of the 2nd world war. It is a fine example of metal construction bridges at the start of the industrial era. Impressive weight and meccano puzzle still operational after more than 100 years

There are bike paths along both banks of the Elbe River, with delightful views of wineries, boat docks, suburban homes, biergartens and of course the river. The "Blue Wonder Bridge" was about 3.5 miles upstream.

That bridge is a wonder, but not blue anymore. The city needs to care more about that, but dosent matter, its amzing to see that bridge, walk or drive over there and cross the river. on both sides you have nice restaurants, viewpoints and little stores to explore. it connect the old- with the newtown. From there you can take... More

Built around 1893, the bridge connected two affluent residential areas and was considered a masterpiece of technology. Today it's just another bridge -- but the areas on both sides are lovely non-touristy streets worth exploring if one has time.

I'm not sure "wonder" is applicable to this bridge anymore. "Historical" maybe. We made a point to drive to see the bridge, but we were underwhelmed with it. From a distance, it was pretty, but then, so are a lot of things. Read about it and look at pictures, but there's no need to visit unless you have nothing else... More

We rode bicycles along the path from Dresden and Pillnitz. We roadie beneath this bridge. Not quite " blue" but certainly worth seeing....maybe not to make a special trip.

It was built 1891-93 so just after Karl Benz had invented the first petrol engine car. Put in this context, this was a significant bridge for its time at the forefront of the then technology available. The real wonder is that it survived the bombing of WWII. OK, so it is nothing fantastic by 21st century standards, but it is... More

The bridge itself is quite an ordinary construction for modern bridges, though it is different from other bridges in the city. I also advise to walk around on the other side of the river. There are some pleasant buildings
