This is Dresden's most interesting suburb, where the students live, lots of bars restaurants and art on the streets, many small shops with strange things, and definitely don't miss the Kunsthofe.

Many busy traffic points / meeting points as well as hotels, shops etc are located in this side of Dresden, opposite of Old (historical) town, opposite of river Elbe. We spent 2 nights in hotel at this side, but take a journey into old town...More

Neustadt is distinctively different from the Altstadt. Certainly less tourists around. Nice place to have a leisurely stroll and stop for a coffee or drink. While crossing the bridge one can admire the Elbe river.

Cross the River Elb when you have seen all the fine old buildings in Altstadt - and thus escape the crowds. You can go shopping, have a nice cup of tea or find an odd place to have dinner. Like Zum Bautzner Tor!

I only walked through Neustadt on my way to the Kunsthofpassagen. There are a lot of little fun things to notice along the way. As always you will notice things if you keep your eyes open for them

By sitting in front of the station I enjoyed the beauty around. You can have lunch from the shops inside the station. Also there is a Donner Kebab store in the outside corner of the station.

This is not one of the places I was planning to visit during my stay in Dresden. By just a coincident and boredom we crossed the river and found this. First it was some boring DDR buildings with lame stores, but behind those shopping streets...More

A hipster counterpart to the old city on the opposite side of Elbe. Ethnic eateries, hipster shops and funky bars abound.
