The store we visited most often was the pharmacy as we both had come down with the flu....not the way... More

The Am Brühl Shopping center is very frequented situated in the heart of the city center in front of the main station, lot of good shops inside, some food court. Fridays you can find a market on the square in front where local farmers sell their products. They are fresh and delicious but quite expensive comparing to the supermarket prices.... More

Apart from some nice photos in some of the buildings showing how that site looked previously there is little to see here.

Building work's still going on in the Brühl, but it's obviously going to be successful. Lots of variety (nineteenth century commercial palaces, super modern offices, DDR blocks of flats, trees, small shops, houses, a new shopping-gallery, bars, restaurants), right in the middle of things between the market square and the main station, naturally irregular, very human and full of life.

The centre of Bruhl is Markt with it's twice weekly food market on Tuesday and Friday. Many streets lead off this square, each having fabulous restaurants of all nationalities and wonderful shopping. The railway station is a short walk away and trains run direct from there to Leipzig airport. If you love shopping and eating, this is the place to... More

This area of Leipzig has undergone amazing transformation with old baroque buildings now providing the setting for one huge amazing shopping mall - But be careful of the feature fountains. They have a habit of jumping out in front of people. Some great eateries - try the Swiss place. Amazing.

It has taken years, but now this famous street with its long history, dating back to Roman times, is accessible again and and attractive place to walk, dine, and shop. Its recent transformation from a street with dissimilar building, including apartment buildings from GDR times, is architecturally most remarkable. Shoppers will like the "Höfe am Brühl", its contemporary and surprising... More
