Walking along the docks there was plenty of wildlife and it looked like an interesting museum which we didn't go in. The street along the dock is a bit dirty and in June some of the restaurants weren't open for lunch. Ehhh.
This is such a good idea, and the range of traditional craft on display is well worth a view. The fact that it all ties in with the excellent Maritime Museum and the little traditional boatyard makes it even better.

Do you mean public transportation such as regular bus service? If so, yes you can get around by bus within the city of Schleswig and also between the cities of Kiel, Eckernfoerde and Flensburg. Just google it :)
