My favourite Christmas market. Lots of arts and craft stands from the Nordic countries and Baltic countries. Also the "soup kitchen" run by volunteers that serves lunch and cake is extremely good value for money. Downside, All this is only available for 10 days in early December.

For a couple of years we each year thought what is this place, with a long que to get in? The entrance fee is 3 eur! We where disappointed it´s local homemade production which where in no way interesting for us. Hope that the entrance fee goes to maintain the building, and not just in somebodies private pocket.

It was the first Hospital in Europe which did NOT belong to the Church, but to the Citizens of Lubeck. The facade is most impressive, but visitors are allowed to the entrance Hall only.

Really beautiful place but it is very poorly presented. Not much information presented in and about the building. There is a small part were you can walk along some kind of containers. In one of the containers is former room rebuild but you can only see it through a very small window and if there are a few people it... More

This was my second visit to the Hospital, simply because I find it both beautiful and interesting to look at. Dating as it does from the 12th century, its history, too, captures the imagination. And, yes, I did buy a little book on it when I was there - and have it front of me now.

When you walk in the door it is a beautiful chapel and dates to 1260. So glad we visited. You can also see the crazy small rooms of where the old folks used to live. Lubeck itself was great - took a walk around the old town with its narrow passage ways and lovely streets. Recommend visiting this city.

Only a short visit but step inside this amazing old hospital, it looks closed but just push the doors open. The outside is amazing

A real surprise! Don't know what I'd expected but once inside I got impressed with the size of this "old folks home" (still in parts active 800 years later). Something not commonly seen and some nice frescoes, models and informative signs. Recommended!

My visit in the Heiligen-Geist-Hospital has been rather quick and unfortunately I have been here in a moment when this location was very crowded. Maybe I should have got the way to appreciate it better, but, in few words, I think that when in Lubeck there are better ways to spend the time. It is however interesting the history of... More
