It is a lovely building and the great hall was amazing, but other than that there is only a couple of small rms to see. I walked around to the side and there were several restaurants and businesses.

We visited this building during a guided walking tour of Lubeck. After accessing the main entrance area, we found that the main part of the building, which acted as a wartime hospital was closed for some building work. Our guide explained that this was the...More

After several days in lovely, memorable Lubeck (my absolute favorite German town!!!) we wanted to see this cathedral which served as a hospital during the war. I am an art/architecture lover and hubby favors historical sites so we were both overjoyed with this visit. Interesting...More

This is a former hospital and the entrance area is beautifully restored. We opened the doors and stepped into another page of this picture book town. Make sure you do too.

It was the first Hospital in Europe which did NOT belong to the Church, but to the Citizens of Lubeck. The facade is most impressive, but visitors are allowed to the entrance Hall only.

This was my second visit to the Hospital, simply because I find it both beautiful and interesting to look at. Dating as it does from the 12th century, its history, too, captures the imagination. And, yes, I did buy a little book on it when...More
