To get here is about a mile walk from the Mariental , there is also a car park. It begins with a nice gateway with a dragon and what seems like a gentle stroll alongside a strean, but suddenly you come to a mini waterfall...More

It was not the first time that I went to the Drachenschlucht. Any time of the year you can visit this geological side. Its fun and interesting to walk above a wild running stream. The country Thueringia is leaving the forest area as it is,...More

Very pleasant walk in the woods through narrow rock passages. Signposted route. Map available from Tourist Information. Recommend 11km clockwise round trip from Hohe Sonne (car park/bus stop) down Drachenschlucht, up Landgraferrschlucht and back down Weinstrasse. Nice views from the top. Also possible to walk...More

Next to the Wartburg a must have if you are in Eisenach. Sport or walking shoes highly recommended. On the top is a lovely beer garden to recover before walking back, including Thuringia Bratwurst.
