For a nice walk through the old town area, this is a must have seen! Not only the old cathedral, also the castle next to it, makes it absolutely worth it! On a nice sunny day it's a really nice spot to hang around and enjoy the view over the city!

When I came up to the platz from a side street my breath was taken away from the beauty. Of course we were there for the Christmas market and that help. But the massiveness of the area just stunning

A lovely setting for the Christmas market with the cathedral towering over you. Great selection of stalls, in fact my favourite market and i have visited a few. Some nice authentic shops. Don't forget a ride of the Ferris Wheel!

Come to Erfurt and see our Domplatz with nice and old buildings e.g. the Cathedral, church, old civil small houses which includes lovely shops and cafes. It is not important to which time you will come, in summer or winter, spring or autumn. In every time you will find a unique flair and will enjoy the place. Take part and... More

Having been to several Christmas Markets in Germany this was by far the most spectacular backdrop to the Domplatz. Worthwhile visiting just to see the magnificent site. The market was spread around the Domplatz offering a variety of events. Erfurt off the well run tracks but well worth the detour.

At Domplatz in Erfurt you find one of the most beautiful christmas markets in Germany. It becomes especially atmospheric at night when the cathedral is lit and some snowflakes are coming down. I like the pyramid and the fairytale forest which is nice for children also. Prices are similar as elsewhere - pretty expensive and it gets really crowded, especially... More

Skip the mega-Christmas markets and head to Erfurt for the real deal. The Domplatz setting with the cathedral looming above is enchanting especially at night, and the area always large enough to host plenty of vendors to satisfy your shopping desires. It's also small enough to be manageable and maintain the folksy feel of authentic Thuringia culture. The crowds we... More

We went to Erfurt to the Christmas market. We were impressed how many stalls were situated on the Domplatz. When you go there, don't forget to visit the Dom itselve. It's really beautyful

The Domplatz was a great venue for the Advent Christmas Market. The regional bratwurst was delicious - however lots of other specialty foods are available, such as a melted cheese and ham - scrumptious! Tip - don't miss the smaller Christmas Market behind the Dom. Take the broad staircase leading up to the church plaza and head down the opposite... More

The Christmas market that filled this square was one of the best we've seen across Europe over the past two years. Even though it's a two hour drive, I'd come back for this Weihnachtsmarkt.
