Although small, this little exhibition gives a good introduction to the Bauhaus style and school of design. It is good for an hour or so maximum. There is a small shop on site. I think you can book a tour with one of the current...More

This exposition is revealing the basic of the Bauhaus ideas and movement. Maybe still a current mission in the actual society. Worthwhile to explore, even if just to wonder how current challenges were already present about 100 years ago.

This is a small but very good collection of artefacts, photos and posters of this movement in architecture and interior design. I was very happy to see the cradle that featured in Neil McGregor's series "Germany, memories of a nation".

i'm sure the new museum will be a big improvement on this endeavour. but the current establishment is somewhat uninspired and very constrained. too many other things to see in Weimar to stop here i'm afraid.

A modest museum that seeks to educate visitors about the emergence in Weimar of the Bauhaus design movement after World War one, with original drawings and artefacts (furniture, domestic items) from that era, and an account of the schisms that developed between the leading personalities...More
