Such a little gem of a museum for Roman history buffs. Beautiful Roman statues, busts, inscriptions and coins. The underground excavation of the Roman amphitheater is fabulous as you walk through and above the seating. Do not miss it.

This museum has a surprising amount of artifacts on display. They are still digging under the Square so new things to see all the time. Take the time to look for this one when you visit Cordoba.

This is a super little museum. Entry is free to EU members ( just show your passport) I would recommend this to anyone looking for an introduction to Cordoba's history or just wanting to escape the heat for an hour or so. There are interesting...More

This is a well- maintained museum, with a good collection of very old coins. But the biggest draw here is the basement, where they show a partially- excavated Roman amphitheater. Apparently there are plans to dig more in the plaza facing the museum, so this...More

This is a lovely small museum, good signage in English and and nice interactive exhibits and staff. It was not at all crowded and we spent an hour and a half strolling the galleries reading the signs and touring from the top to the bottom...More

This was just round the corner from our BnB. Very interesting to get a better idea of the history of Cordoba and the area.

We ducked into the museum to avoid the rain. What a treat! A well signed-Spanish and English museum of artifacts from the early Bronze Age onward. The exhibit of coins with the magnifying glass was amazing to see the details on the coins. Plus a...More

This gem was thankfully free of the waves of tourists elsewhere, hope this review doesn't change that. The exhibits are in Spanish and English, showing artifacts of the area from the time of the Neanderthals to the late Middle Ages, with an emphasis on the...More

It's a lovely small archaeological museum, with site underneath. I see that the moveable magnifying glass on the coin display has already been mentioned -- it's nice to be able to see them with magnification if one wants to. One caveat -- they are renovating...More

Good explanations and well laid out -- two reasons to go to this museum, couple this with the amphitheater under it and a good coffee in the quiet leafy piaza after, and you can see why you should do this. I really enjoyed the coin...More
