An interesting time stamp of Spain at this point of time. Not being any artlovers in particular we still enjoyed this exhibition.

I usually came here in the late afternoon..nicely dressed and fragranced to take a slow walk from painting to painting. My favourite room is the top floor with all the large Malaga seascape and harbour..what dramas and colours.. I felt hungry afterward and ready to eat straight away. What better way to spend predinner hours?

Fascinating collection mainly of 19th century Spanish paintings. There was also an excellent temporary exhibition on the American Wild West though it has finished now. Really good audio guide. Nice building to wander through with a little terrace on the 2nd floor which was a bonus on a hot day. Highly recommended.

This museum is housed in the refurbished 16th C Palacio de Villalon. There is a good range of works on display including Old Masters and various forms of landscape painting. I visited this museum for the special exhibition of original works of Japanese Art and Artefacts on loan from the Museo de Bellas Artes in Bilbao until 23 April 2017.... More

A beautiful gallery housed in a 16th century palace. The collection is very strong on 19th century Andalusian pictures of bull fights, taverns scenes, gypsies, flamenco. All full of light and life and absolutely delightful. There are also some old masters including a picture of Santa Marina by Zurbaran who is my favourite Spanish artist. There is a café and... More

Over three floors , provides audio guide. If it were not for Picasso, this would be The Art gallery in Andalusia or at least in Malaga.

This gallery is worth a visit and thought the quality of the temporary exhibits when I visited was not to of a high international standard, the permanent collection is very interesting in relation to Spanish and especially Andalusian romanticism.

I do not usually DO art but this museum is definitely worth a visit. It is beatufully laid out on 4 floors and the art, which is all Spanish, is very interesting. The different styles of the artists are very clear. It is art I can understand which is more than I can say for Picasso!

If you've spent some time walking the streets of Malaga and visiting the shops, this is a calm and restful spot for a culture break. A good selection of pictures, especially pastoral scenes from the Spain of yesterday. The cafe is pleasant - and the gallery shop is good.

Tucked-away in a small street at Compañia 10, this restored Malaga mansion blends elements of the old with modern amenities. Several resident galleries, guest galleries, a shop, café and sun terrace make this a delightful small museum. Air-conditioned but light and of modest size, the Carmen Thyssen has enough to interest the art lover over a morning or afternoon. We... More
