We visited Malaga for my 40th birthday and stayed at an apartment in the vicinity of Plaza de la Merced. On our first night we had a walk around here, a few drinks and picked up some Tapas. All at a very reasonable price and...More

This plaza is a good place to find lots of different restaurants, the house where Picasso was born and lived, amongst the day to day life of the city. Nice and friendly.

This square is full of history, the Monument to Torrijos, the house where Picasso saw the light for the first time, multiple bars, and the nearby spots that your should not miss while in the City of Málaga

We stopped in this square for lunch and we not disappointed. The food was really good and the square had a great vibe. We went there to try the Mercado Merced as we thought it would be like the TimeOut Market in Lisbon, but unfortunately...More

This is a lively, beautiful plaza. It kind of reminded me of Covent Garden. There's lots going on, full of places to eat, drink, socialize and shop. There are many plaza's around malaga, all vey stunning.

Nice but not spectacular or special. A nice square with a monument that I think commerates the loss of Cuba to the US.

It's got a Picasso statue sitting on a bench. There are lots of restaurants around. It's a good place to people watch, grab a tapa, or tea.. On this particular day there is an art exhibition around the momument. It's alright.

Don’t go out of your way for this one. A fairly dirty small square mainly people letting their dogs play (which is nice), a lot of tourist restaurants in front so ok for tapas and a quick break. A quick photo with a bronze statue...More

Stayed just across from the plaza. Every day seemed to bring a different protest march, highly entertaining 😁 This is a real living part of the city, I wish Piccadilly Gardens back home were more like this

Lovely area to sit, relax and take a break. Its a big plaza with plenty of seating and plenty of cafes. Lots of people queuing to take their picture with Picasso statue.

Yes - try Restaurante Vegetariano Cañadú, Plaza de la Merced, 21 Málaga - (+34) 952 60 27 19. Very good reviews. It's on the opposite side of the Plaza to Picasso's house. Enjoy.
