Within the Alhambra, Generalife palace & gardens step you back in time. The gardens are sublime- we visited when all the roses were out & orange trees in blossom.. the aroma & array of colours was amazing..

A visit to the Alhambra is complimented by visiting the gardens. We enjoyed a short break after our exertions there and then set off with our guide. There were surprisingly fewer people visiting the gardens. The gardens date to 1318 but over the centuries have...More

We visited the Generalife in the evening since this was the only booking we could get about two months prior to our visit in May. It is a beautiful garden, but not better than many others I have seen. At least we were able to...More

Not sure why there is a separate listing for the Generalife as it is part of the Alhambra complex and you need a ticket to enter (which are difficult to get!). I would start your tour with the Generalife first - it's much easier to...More

Went round this part of the Alhambra 1st on reflection it might be better doing it the other way round as it all seemed much more relaxed. The only reason we did it this way round is because of our booking time at the Nasrid...More

This is a part of Alhambra palace so you don't have to miss it when you are planing to visit Alhambra. This place is amazing, so greenish and full of flowers, and it has an amazing panaoramic view over the city.

After touring much of the Alhambra, a walk to Generalife seems daunting, but it is worth it. The gardens are what were so pretty.

Visited here with our Alahambra ticket. One thing we didn’t realise is that it is a circular route in and out, and should really only be allowed in once, but as we had a 5 year old desperate for the toilet, we had to leave...More

Be sure and walk through the Generalife, definitely worth walking over to once you are in the Alhambra.

You can pay only for the Gardens, but the whole ticket (around 15€) include the gardens, the Nasrid Palaces (Palacios Nazaríes) and the Generalife, too. It is really worthwhile.

Further: The citrus trees may have fruit but the likelihood of flowers would be low HOWEVER you can certainly expect to be able to enjoy the Alhambra and Generalife with less crowds so you will be able to see the buildings... More

Hello, I was there again in April 2017 and the beds were in full bloom so nothing to worry about if April is your choice.
