A baroque masterpiece a short distance from the centre of Granada. There is a bus that runs from the centre of Granada and drops you off a couple of minutes away, but we chose to walk it and found it very manageable, although it’s not...More

Although a little bit out of the centre, we walked down the Gran Via de Colon to Plaza del Triunfo then got the No.7 bus which drops you outside the Monastery. It is spectacular with an excellent audio guide. Well worth visiting and not difficult...More

We actually walked here from the center of the town. We love walking around (yes, we do get lost) as you can see more of the not-touristy places. So, it's about 25-30 min on foot. This is one of only 4 Carthusian monasteries left in...More

Three of us visited Monasterio Cartuja today. They take cash only and there is no discount for seniors. The entry is 5 euros including the audio tour, which is a necessity. It provides a general introduction in the beautiful cloister and then in each of...More

Off the beaten path but a must see. Their hours of operation are continuous, 10:00 am until close I think at 600 pm. The archdiocese website was wrong on the times, showing long breaks between morning and afternoon. The use of light, symbolism, marble, and...More

Beautiful, richly decorated altar, frescoes on the walls and ceiling. I'm impressed. You can get there by bus N7 from the bus stop near the Jardined del Triumfo.

Dating to 1516, this monastery has a beautiful sanctuary, a beautiful sacristy, attractive cloisters of orange trees and incredible paintings by Fray Juan Sanchez Cotan. The beauty of the monastery rivals anything we saw in Lisbon, Seville, Madrid ... A true hidden gem if there...More

Cartuja is the most beautiful building in Granada, in my opinion. The Church is impressive and gorgeous. An uninterrupted sequence of stuccos representing angels, baptisms, and festons. An altar, marble, imposing, and a wonderful little camarin. The triumph of Saint Bruno who decorates the ceiling...More

You can park outside for free and pay at the door (just 4 euros each). It is simply breathtaking! Don't miss it!
