This museum was the home and studio of Max Moreau. It is very well curated with excellent explanations about the artist's life, family, and art. And it's a way to step into a home that is said to be like many in the area, but whose insides can only be imagined because they are guarded by the blank walls in... More

What a delightful small home of the Belgian Artist Max Moreau. A wee gem of a location with great views, especially from the upper balcony. There is an exhibit of his portraiture works and items furnishing his home. The courtyard and gardens are a pleasure to be in. Thanks to Max Moreau for leaving his property to the people. He... Stunning home in the Albayzin! The house features the original furnishings, and much of his artwork. But the courtyard and garden are gorgeous, and the view is amazing.

We are in an apartment close by, so wandered in to this tour of the house and gardens that Moreau lived in in Granada. Why wouldn't we-it's free. Very interesting artwork (mostly portraiture), lovely little house, interesting gardens-this is 30-45 minutes well spent. A must-see if you're in the Albayzin district anyways!

... and that's why Max Moreau spent a good part of his life there and made of this carmen, excellently located in the Albayzin, his studio. It is not very well known but worth a visit, especially the bric-a-brac accumulated over the years by the travelling painter, among which you might encounter a sleeping cat :) fore more:http://alhambracadabra.blogspot.com.es

If you are visiting Granada, you’ll be going to the Mirador San Nicolas. And if you do that, you should consider half an hour or so in this free museum, which is a couple of minutes away along Camino Nuevo de San Nicolas. I’d never heard of Max Moreau before visiting this tiny museum. And now that I have looked... More

Max Moreau was a realist Belgian painter who lived from 1902 to 1992. When he died he left his house in the Albayzin to the City of Granada, and his house and workshop are where his museum is now located. The museum shows how houses looked in the past in the Albayzin and how they planted their gardens. This is... More

This museum is free to visit, though you feel like you want to pay, as it is all presented so nicely and the host is so kind. Paintings and personal objects of Max Moreau and his wife in a beautiful Carmen, just a few meters from my house. I will definitely be a returning visitor!
