The Barrio Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish quarter. The streets are narrow and form a labyrinth. It’s easy to get lost among the jasmine-scented streets… only to discover a convent or a palace or a hotel. Many of the palaces have wrought iron gates suitable for peeping into their beautiful patios. There are many small stores and some artisan shops, as well as good art galleries.

Our hotel was steps from the Alcazar, the Cathedral, Taxis, Horse and Buggy rides, lots of places to eat and drink and shop. It is a very safe area and parks were clean, too!

We had a free morning and wandered around here as it had been recommended. It was lovely. Wee narrow twisty streets suddenly open out to amazing squares with cafes and bars and places to just sit and take it all in. Don't miss it if...More

Pretty corridors with picturesque buildings and full tapas bars. A great evening walk. Small Jasmine scented squares. Stop and eat with the locals.

Barrio Santa Cruz is the primary tourist area of the city. It's a labyrinth of narrow picturesque streets and alleys. There are through the neighborhood several atmospheric plazas and squares. It's really a beautiful neighborhood, but really with a lot of tourists. To find Sevila...More

Walk out and get lost that's part of its charm apparently. Very touristy. Shops full of tourist crap. Bit disappointed really. No good shopping here. Went to a flamenco show. Packed in like sardines on really uncomfortable chairs in stifling heat. Yey!!

The labyrinthine, narrow cobblestone alleyways are fun and beautiful to explore. Tapas bars and flamenco are here. Easy to get lost in the miles of "streets" so bring your smartphone!

This was an OK walk in an old neighborhood. Only one patio was visible. The squares were not that impressive. A few cafes and souvenir shops.

AS everyone else says, ask for - or look up to find the spire of - the Cathedral. Where the lanes open out onto squares there are often black-and-gold signposts, too
