    Wonderful in every respect
I cant describe how wonderful this trip is ...... once you are through the streets of Palma and the flat industrial area then it's climb and beauty ........ the long tunnel is like a five minute drum-roll to the stop overlooking Soller. Soller is fantastic, maybe dont get the first tram to the port and have a few beers in the square, watching the trams cut through. Port du Soller is magical, and while the tapas on the front of the quay are expensive, please just build it into your day. Wow - a day I'll never forget

    Worth a visit
This was a great trip to Soller and then the tram ride down to the port. We spent much longer at the port than we did in Soller as the weather was perfect. Just a tip - always pre book tickets online as the queue is much shorter at the check in desk at the station and arrive 30 mins early as the trains start filling up fast! The trams were every half hour and they seem to have a few trams on per journey so there was no issue getting a seat. I would definitely recommend this trip.

    To die for. Absolutely incredible
Incredible journey along the train and train lines up to Soller and the Port. One of the most beautiful areas I’ve visited. The Trainline takes you gradually through the mountainous landscapes with views both sides to die for. What and exceptional day!

    Fantastic
A ride through citrus groves and past dramatic scenery on a beautifully restored vintage electric train - what could be finer? The ride is so interesting and there's a scenic stop off en route . From Soller (the end of the line) you can ride the similarly restored vintage tram to Port Soller. Kids of all ages will love it! Check out the Miro and Picasso displays at Soller station. And book online to avoid huge queues and to be sure of a seat!

Journey back in time to a fantastic beachside town
What a charming experience. 100+ year old train through the beautiful countryside to the beautiful town of Sóller. Lots of photos and memories of the experience. Well worth booking in advance - the queue for those without pre booked tickets was crazy. Get the combination ticket which also covers the tram from Soller Town to Soller port, you won’t regret it.

A great afternoon out, would have liked more time...
Loved this trip. Booked online directly at Tren de Sollere website for train and tram for Euro 25 (much cheaper than through agencies that advertise this) but found that for each day I searched for, only the 3 pm one was available. Decided to do that in the end, was easy process. Got to station early to see the train come in and change its locomotive around (worth watching) and the actual trip to Soller takes you through a magnificent landscape once you get out of Palma (but riding through the city is an experience too). Once in the mountains, views are amazing, and kept me standing on the outdoor platform all the way. Takes 1 hour 20 minutes and then change to the tram in Soller for a 20 minute ride to Port de Soller. Fabulous little town but not enough time to explore it as last train back departs Soller at 7.30 and I had to get the 7 m tram back. Shame, could have easily spent much longer here, and no time left to explore Soller either, or th emuseum at the station. Real pity. So...if you go, keep that in mind. Hopefully you'll get more time to look around.

    A nice excursion
This old wooden train was made in the beginning of 20th century for transporting fruits to the port of Palma, but now is a known tourist attraction. It passes through picturesque localities via about 12 tunnels (most of them short, but one 3 km long). We had a nice trip to the town of Soller, centre of a valley, producing citrus fruits (3 crops annually). The small town centrum is in Art Nouveau-like style. Another tourist attraction is the old tramway towards the port. In the railway station there are 2 small, but very interesting free permanent exhibitions – of Joan Miro (he spent his last years in the island) and ceramics of Picasso.

Lovely - but not the same like Panorama Trains in Switzerland
When you read the description in some tour guides, you come with high expectations, but seeing the Swiss or Canadian Panorama trains was a little disappointing. Nevertheless, it was worth going since you could go from one end to the other and discover the different faces of Mallorca. It would be best if you transferred to the tram in Soller. They offer combined tickets for both sequences. For the tram, you should know that they provide two consecutive trams. The second tram has open-air cars. So waiting a few minutes would be worth it. It was somehow not very well organized for online guests: you need to exchange the voucher at the teller against actual tickets but to have home-print-out tickets. It's nice to have the photo stop. When you arrive at the Intermodal Terminal, additional signs will make finding the entrance to the train station easier.

Nice but short ride between Port Soller and Soller Center
Actually we went by bus to Port Soller as in the Internet it was stated that neither the train nor the tram were operating between mid of Dec until beginning of February - due to regular maintenance (resp. Not sufficient passengers). We enjoyed Port Soller which is very empty in December and saw by surprise that the tram was actually operating - 8 EUR for a rather short and not really overwhelming ride is big money - but nostalgic and romantic sentiments actually count as well in life. Therefore worthwhile to bite the bullet but only one way should be fully sufficient (smile)

    An interesting experience
Went on a Sunday at about 12 pm, not much organisation at either end for disabled people. Lots of amazing views on the way and the train stopped for a few mins so people could take pictures. It's definitely a good experience to do once.

We took the train from Palma to Soller where we stayed

The train is quaint, slow, charming and a really good experience for a family. Sure it’s cheaper and faster to take a cab if you are 4 like us, it great they have preserved this historic train line. It’s not cheap but well worth it. Remember only cash payment so bring 25 EUR in cash per head

Scenic tour in a veteran train across farmland and through mountains. This ride is a must if you visit Mallorca. After the visit to Sóller, take the tram to Puerto de Sóller to complete the veteran themed rides. I recommend the regular busses from Puerto de Sóller or Sóller back to Palma as they are both faster and cheaper. The train and tram are for the scenic rides rather than mere transport.

If you are a disabled passenger or wheelchair bound please do not buy tickets for this attraction. There is nothing on the website to alert to assessubilty issues with the train. I bought tickets online but when I arrived (30 mins early) with my wheelchair bound mother, crowds of people surged ahead of us then when I asked the ticket master if there was help to get on the train he shrugged his shoulders and said no. I then spoke to the station manager who was equally unhelpful. I requested a refund as we were not physically able to board the train. The manager said that could only be done at Soller and that I would have to email them. I have emailed once via the website and twice to the tren de soller email address (read receipts confirm that the emails were read) but no reply and no refund. Appalling customer service and very discriminatory towards the disabled.

Don't leave it to the last minute to get the last tram from the port to Soller.
Some 'tourists' have absolutely no manners when it comes to pushing in.

Going out is fine but coming back is a bit of a scramble especially if you are booked on the 1730 train back to Palma. Also there appears to be the odd special tram that is tied to some package trips/tours so it does get a little confusing around 1600 hours.

If you have booked tickets online go to the left hand queue at Palma station. The right hand queue is for cash (only) sales at the ticket office.
Your booked tickets will be waiting on presentation of your booking reference and the train won't leave until everyone has their tickets - so there's no need to push in!

Overall a grand day out through the mountains on a vintage railway.

I'm surprised we haven't seen this train in an episode of Poirot.

A perfect way to travel from Palma to Soller town. The journey to Soller took just over an hour as it is quiet slow but the views are fabulous. The train even stops at one high point so people can get off and take pictures.
There was just 1 train there and 1 train back when we went (perhaps due to less tourists during this time of covid) so best to check the website for timings.
Rather than getting the tram to the Port of Soller, we took a trail walk through the hills which was lovely. After a leisurely lunch at Albatros on the port side we then got a taxi back up to Soller town to catch the return train back to Palma.
The return to Palma is a bit quicker.

Make sure you wear a face mask - the conductor will also ensure you do.

This experience features in all the guide books, and rightly so. It is worth getting to the station half an hour early to get in the queue so you can nip up to the front of the train and enjoy the comfy seats available in the front carriage only. Only disappointment was that the Miro museum in the station at Soller was shut on a Monday.

If you visit Mallorca and you are planning to go somewhere around the area, Soller must be the place you would like to visit. The best way to go there... THIS TRAIN!
After over a century is one of the oldest wooden trains in Europe and still preserves the enchanting features from the old times.
The ride from Plaza de España to Soller will take about an hour and even though the beginning the ride is not very spectacular, once you get out of the city and you reach Son Sardina station and then Buñola, you will be probably convinced that you have taken the right choice by choosing to jump in this train. And after you will stop for a few minutes in one old station that offers a view, from uphills, of Soller. Do not forget to book your tram ticket, it is also the best way to get from the Village of Soller to its port, which is separated by a few km. Taking it together will save you a couple of euros.

I had been wanting to do this journey for quite some time. It is highly advisable to book in advance, to both guarantee a space and to avoid the slower payment queue at the station. We bought the combined train and tram ticket, which we found much easier. It is also highly advisable to get to the (dedicated) station early so that you can be near the front of the queue and board more easily and be seated together where you want. We sat on the left hand side going to Soller, and the right hand side coming back to Palma, as had been suggested by a TA reviewer, though I am not sure it really made much difference. The train is a quaint old thing, and I enjoyed that at the Palma end, the train rumbles through the streets before reaching the countryside. It is a fairly slow journey and so I recommend getting an early train from Palma (around 0915 when we went) so that you arrive in good time for a coffee in Soller town or at the port. There is not much to the town of Soller itself, though it does have a busy shopping street if that is what you want, and we much preferred the port area, which has a lovely beach and promenade, and a lot of nice restaurants/cafes (and ice creams!). The tram back up to Soller town can get busy so allow yourself enough time to get back for your train. The return train queue was quite a disorganised bun fight and they could really do with having a dedicated queueing area, so bear this in mind. I read that one TA reviewer suggested coming back on the normal train service from Soller to Palma (quicker and more comfortable) but we did not really look into the cost and ease of this. Overall, I enjoyed the train ride, and the port of Soller, and would recommend it for a day excursion.

In a world where everything is now now now, it was so lovely to step back in time and just enjoy the slow ride through the Majorcan countryside and mountains. Despite this being explained on the back of the ticket, you’ll always get people that complain.
We took both the train to Soller and the onward tram to Port do Soller and enjoyed both journeys.
The only slight negative to the whole experience was the very rude and grumpy ‘Fat Controller’ who was on the gate at Soller for the return journey to Palma.

NB. If you’re coming from the Magaluf area, rather than pay a small fortune for a taxi ride (assuming you can actually find one), we took the 104 bus which terminates virtually directly underneath the starting point for the train journey.

I was really looking forward to this experience but it's managed so badly its a complete joke and a waste of money.
They cram TONNES of people onto the tram. There is no social distancing and half the passengers aren't even bothering to wear a mask - nobody checks.
If you get the tram from soller to Porto de soller be prepared to really fight to get back. They tell you that the tram departs every half an hour but in reality some trams are reserved for travel agencies only (massive groups of 50 people or so) and they won't allow anyone else to get on the tram even though you've paid for the ticket. Then when you're finally allowed to get on there are mad crowds. There aren't enough seats and they tell everyone who can't sit to get off and wait for the next one - I guess they don't care if you miss the train to palma.
The staff are quite rude and the risk of catching covid is high due to the way they pack the train and the tram. Waste of money - get the bus or drive instead.
