Both his studios are in the visit, along with an architecturally stunning gallery and garden containing paintings, sketches, cartoons, sculptures - of all shapes and sizes. Its fascinating. A bit off the beaten track but worth it if you like art and the artistic creation processVisited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 November 2023

It’s so informative and to see his studio and where he worked was fascinating. The display of his work was fantastic. The cafe was also nice for a refreshing drink afterwards too.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 April 2024

Very friendly and helpful staff at the Reception. Very interesting art collection in the main building. Loved the garden sculptures. The 2 art studios were interesting too, showing Miro's working environment. Lovely cafe in the grounds.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 July 2024

Fascinating gallery of Miro art, plus his workshops set out as they were in the 1980s. Attractive grounds with Miro sculptures and friendly cafe. Easy to reach on number 46 bus from central Palma, takes about 30 minutes.

Great museum and a must-visit for fans of the artist. It's actually just a short walk from where we've been living for the past year, but it took a visit from a friend to get me there. We walked in just before 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, and the lady on the desk told us that if we waited for just a few minutes, entry would be free. Don't know if this is every day, or just on Saturdays. It's not a huge place, but we spent an hour or so, wandering the gallery and Joan's workshop.

The big part of the museum is closed for restauration but it is still worth a visit as you will be able to see Miro’s atelier and things that inspired his paintings. Amazing! Absolutely amazing! You will also see the sketches he did on the walls, the way he created colors and so on. The great addition is a 15 minutes movie about this place, his work and inspiration. The place itself is quite nice and with a great view. If you want you can visit it on Saturdays when it is free in the afternoon. The gift shop has many interesting (yet a bit pricy) items. There is a café but it was closed when we visited.

This is quite a large site, with several buildings and galleries to visit, but I came away a little underwhelmed. The main exhibition space is a striking gallery with fabulous light. A few sculptures were for me the standout amongst many grey canvases which were, ahem, rather childlike at times and a little dull, compared to the vibrancy of his earlier work. The artists studio itself was great and gave a sense of how he worked, but other buildings on the site were understated, not helped by the attendants who were very uninterested in where they were.
The whole laid back nature was not helped by the cafe being shut, giving the whole place the sense of being more closed than open.
For information, it’s very easy to combine this with a visit to Castell Bellver. Just get the 47 bus to Place Gomila and walking up C/Bellver.

We really enjoyed seeing both the modern studio (amazing space and light) and the older part of this complex where Miro lived and worked. It gives a real insight into the artist. Yes some of the area is currently closed for building works and no it is not a full painting exhibition (which is rather the point, it is his studio) but this is well worth the the experience to see where he painted.

This is definitely something you should see if you’re in town, but it’s not a long commitment. We visited the Miro foundation outside in Barcelona, and were totally blown away so we were hopeful for something similar when we arrived at Mallorca, but it’s a much simpler exhibition without as much quality or quantity of work, a lot more focused on sculpture and drawings. The building is beautiful as is the setting.

We came to the the studio of Miró and the exhibitions in the Moneo Building. Due to restoration of the museum, there were no exhibitions at the moment.
The Studio and the gardens are wonderful and are fully worthy of a visit despite the exhibition being closed off temporarily.

The centre is largely closed with very few Miro works on display. One small room of tapestry and a small number of paintings.
Apparently the main buildings have a roof leak and closed for renovation. This is not clear or obvious until after you buy your tickets. I believe we were quite misled about this.
They have staff in three places to ‘check your tickets’ - they clearly also don’t like their job.

Hi, sorry if this is a bit late. You could always take the red tourist bus but if you fancy taking the local bus from Placa del Mercat, route L3 to Illetes. Get off at stop 69 (Hotel Nixe) and then it is a 5 minute walk inland and up the hill. If you download the MobiPalma app it is really helpful with the bus routes.

The #46 bus will cost €1 from the city centre. It is quite close to the port.
