- EmiliLondon, United Kingdom102 contributionsBeautiful but so crowded in the summerThe beach is beautiful but like most beaches in Mallorca, it gets very crowded in the summer making it a bit uncomfortable to be in - everyone is practically on top of each other! The water is clear and beautiful, safe to swim in and very shallow. It is lifeguarded. I wouldn't recommend if you have younger children because there's not much space for them to run around in the summer since it's so crowded. The beach is in a town so there's shops and restaurants nearby and there's a beach bar and cafe on the beach. Overall I recommend if you're in the area but there are better beaches on the island.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 December 2023
- Lia K8 contributionsBusy BeachGorgeous beach. A little tricky to stumble upon. Way too many people! Especially for a Friday afternoon. There was a a restaurant and you can rent umbrellas. It is gorgeous but every square inch of beach is covered in people. The water is also pretty cold in MayVisited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 24 May 2024

- ChrisK3West Yorkshire, United Kingdom1,108 contributions70 Euros !Visited Cala Mayor beach on Sunday from Palma. The weather was great, the beach was crammed solid and it’s not that big really. We found probably the last few beds and parasol available. The old very bronzed beach guy came along and told us the two beds and one parasol would cost us 70 euros ! Quite surprised I asked him how much thinking I’d misheard him, he said in broken English SEVENTY. We declined his offer and found a pitch at the side of a beach bar offering a little shade, same idea as a young couple of locals. Watched the beach guy constantly telling people who had put their towels down to move on if they were catching the slightest bit of shade from his parasols ! One Spanish guy refused to move, they must have come to a compromise as the beach guy went off & returned with an umbrella so the local guy and his daughter moved on a few yards away from the parasols,no money exchanged hands. The sand is soft and very good. The sea very warm too. A few showers and toilets scattered about. My advice for any one going and planning to use the beach most days, take your own Stuff. 70 euros every day cost you more than the flight over.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 August 2024

We were staying nearby and had a nice evening walk to the beach. We had looked beforehand and based on rave reviews we decided to have dinner at the Crow’s Nest. We hadn’t booked and even though the place was busy we were given a table with stunning views of the bay. The service was amazing and relaxed. We didn’t feel under pressure to choose quickly. The menu has a fantastic range of food including many South African dishes. The food was delicious.
Dave and Estelle were fantastic hosts and took the time to chat to us. We felt very welcome.
The Crow’s Nest is a hidden gem and we cannot recommend it enough.

Nice little beach. Soft sand, clear shallow water. Good facilities but pricey. 19 euro for two beds and parasol. Beach bars and restaurants are expensive but many alternatives on the main street, behind the beach.

Visiting Mallorca without wheels and avoiding public transport? Well, This beach is a 7€ taxi ride from Palma, close to taxi rank for return trip. As a solo traveller, the ability to safely lock away my phone and money so I can swim freely and walk along the beach is wonderful . It cost more for the safe, beach umbrella and deck chair than the two taxis combined - but still worth it. Then, the beach is PATROLLED! Again, as a solo traveller - this was another bonus. There are bars, cafes, showrrs and toilets…there was one lady offering massages - but definitely no crowds of hawkers etc. the sand was white, there was no seaweed, and it was so relaxing!

Overall a lovely beach, there are many restaurants and shops nearby. My only problem is that it is so crowded because the beach is so small. Everyone is practically on top of one another, so I would personally think twice if you are with young kids who like to play in the sand. Other than that, the water is beautiful and it is a lovely beach.

A lovely bay with nice quiet beach and a relaxed vibe. A classic holiday brochure destination. Not much "frontage" or public areas to speak of, lots of private residences and exclusive developments have bagged the best spaces so if you are looking to be able to enjoy long walks along the seafront this is not the place for you. A busy road lies behind lined with the usual collection of restaurants, cafes and necessary shops. Not much of interest unless you visit the Joan Miro centre.

Best beach around Palma. Clean, clear water. Extending shallow water and perfect for small children. Very fine and soft sand! You have to go down a few stairs or a pathway to find it since there are no cars allowed at the waterfront. It is partly in front of the Nixe Palace Hotel. 150m away there are food options and some small shops. Taxi from Palma is around 7Euro.

We visited at the beginning of April. We weren't expecting much as it was fairly cold, but the beach was nice enough we were able to swim each day. We weren't the only ones in the water and it seems that the locals enjoy this beach as well. Lots of small cafe's and bars in the area and our hotel was a 2 minute walk to the beach. The sand was clean and soft and my kids spent a lot of time playing in it as the water was pretty cold. There were bathrooms available, a shower/rinse off station and a couple of bars for beer, snacks, and cocktails.
