The archeological exhibit provides information on the history of Ciutadella. Interesting also the cranea of the small Balearic fossil goat (Myotragus balearicus), discovered by British female paleontologist Dorothea Bate. The Museum could be more attractive if modern museography resources were used.

No doubt contains some significant archeological finds relating to the Talayotic, Roman, and to a much lesser extent the period of Moorish rule, but could benefit from some 21st century museum presentation techniques. All exhibits are labelled in Catalan; (which is not that difficult to read if you have good Spanish and French); however a good explanatory leaflet providing translations... More

This is a small museum which took me half an hour to get round. The entry fee was 2.46 euros and for that you you received entry plus a comprehensive guidesheet written in English. This was vital because all the signs/explanations in the museum were in Spanish. The exhibits were varied and ranged from pottery, though coins to the skulls... More

We wandered into this museum on a day trip to cuitadella. The woman on reception was so rude. Barely raised her head as on this day it was free entry. As we went to enter she screamed at us to give her our cameras and bags. Rather than explain that you had to leave your belongings in a locker she... More

We thought this would be a chance to view a bit of the local history. The lady on reception was incredibly rude making no effort to welcome us and barely raising her head when we walked in. The displays were very good however the English booklet we were given was very difficult to link up to the displays.

this place is very misleading, cheap to get in about 2.5 euros but we went with the impression it was for the history of the fort and a tour of such, however after youve paid you discover it is only two rooms on the top floor which is filled with things which have been discovered all around the area, (roman... Nice respite from the heat of the day. Some interesting exhibits. Leaflet available in English but display boards all in Spanish/Catalan. Not too expensive entry. No bags or cameras at all allowed inside - receptionist secures in a (free) locker until you come out.

First off the assistant was very rude and scowling and demanded our coats and bags. She said we had 25 minutes to look round. And quite honestly that was enough for the youngsters. The exhibits were a mixture of fascinating and very dull so they made a game of finding the dullest. I love museums and this was one to... More

The woman on reception was incredibly rude both to my husband and my 8 year old (unlike everyone else we met on Menorca). No photography allowed in the museum, presumably so people don't find out how small and dull the museum is before they've paid the steep ticket price. It is possible to get an English guide sheet for the... More

Steep price for one of the only working museums on the Island. The place covers from the oldest of times all the way through the stone age, roman times and medieval era. The exhibits have interesting objects to behold if only you could understand what you were supposed to be loking at. I guess in one of those typical local... More
