We didn't go for the walking tour as the weather was a little rainy and we didn't have suitable footwear. Instead we drove from Moya where we were staying down past the airport and followed the signs (which were not very big and easily missed). Suggest you use GPS as well as your eyes! Follow the GC1 past the airport... More

We visited by car and agree that the road from Aguimes, although signposted, can be easy to miss and at first it seems to be the wrong road. It is the road to the east of the church. The Barranco itself is beautiful and I would recommend going in the morning/midday so the light is best. The museum on the... More

We went to lovely drive around Baranco de Guayadeque, as we are to lazy to walk/climb etc. It is breathtaking road. We stopped at Museo de Guayadeque and I would recommend to spend some time there as it is very informative. Our 4 years old liked it a lot. Then we had a lunch at Cave restaurant (Tagoror). Nice home... More

Just returned from a wonderful day driving and then walking in the Guayadeque gorge. At this time of the year the gorge is at its most enchanting with masses of almond trees in blossom. If you can drive up in the morning when the sun illuminates the gorge sides evenly, in the afternoon one side will be in deep shadows.... More

Guayadeque is an easy drive from the coast near the airport. A very pretty valley with diverse flora and fauna, carved out by rivers over time in a steep ravine with many caves. The first stop is an interesting museum which charges a small fee but is well worth visiting to understand the lives of the people who lived there,... More

Whilst on holiday in Gran Canaria, one of the trips we will remember is the visit to the cave restuarant and the cave people in Guayadeque. The scenery on route coming from the south of the island is stunning, going along roads which a modern coach driver has to contend with, and looking out from your window, one false slip... More

We took a car drive to the valley, it's a constant uphill road zigzaging in the bottom of the valley offering amazing views. The most interesting sights are the small villages having homes build directly inside the mountain wall. We walked in one of those villages (neaby the chapel) and people would have invited us to visit.

A visit to the Guayadeque ravine is a must if you are interested in what Gran Canaria has to offer away from the coast. It is a fascinating area of outstanding beauty that is registered as a natural monument. People have lived in the area for 1500 years, making their homes in caves and they continue to live here today.... More

Had a great afternoon in the Guayadeque valley. We went to the museum which is on the way first, €3 entry and you learn a little about the aboriginal inhabitants who lived in the valley over 500 years ago. Then we followed the road all the way to the end where the trek to the Marteles Caldera starts. We arrived... More
