Visitors to the Canary Islands have a unique opportunity to get to know African Art in Las Palmas at CAAM, in an exhibition of 21 Female African artists, from all corners of Africa. This is a fantastic opportunity for anybody from Northern Europe to get aquainted with and enjoy art from Africa. it is also in many ways a moving... More

Modern gallery built onto a front of an old building. It has a strange lay out with lots of rooms with hardly anything in there. Walkways across open space and a big space right up the middle of the building. Go if it's raining otherwise don't bother.

We enjoyed a temporary exhibition by African female artists in a beautiful building combining old and modern architecture. For free on Wednesday evenings!

We visited CAAM with our toddler and managed to spend over and hour wandering around taking in the art. The building is very interesting, a great space to display art. There are toilet facilities and a rest area/terrace - hot and cold refreshments are available from a very reasonably priced vending machine. Would definitely recommend a visit. Free entry too... We visited the CAAM as part of our 1-day tour of Las Palmas. We loved the architecture of the building. The collection during our visit was about South-America and visually a bit special with a lot of caleidoscopes. You can takes pictures (without flash), staff is friendly, lockers are freely available (and mandatory as you can not take a backpack... More

For contemporary art, the setting it is displayed in can be of great importance. Here we have a magnificent building in the old town. From the outside, you would expect some antique palazzo, but the interior is a nice ensemble of clean and white spaces full of light. The current exhibition (iconocracia) has highs and lows, but the museum is... More

The CAAM is a fantastic building which is definitely worth a visit. The photos from Cuba is not really worth the time. I always wonder why ugly is more art than beauty. I prefer beauty

Of the artworks shown, maybe 5 could be qualified as enough to graduate art school with. And then barely. I was shocked and saddened by the lack of even an attempt of an exhibition.

Wasn't my cup of tea, sorry. I am a great appreciators of art but a pile of rubble is not my thing. A strange layout of rooms. You have to lock you bags in a locker 1 euro refundable.
