Great views from the top of the Pico Bandama and trekking down to caldera was exellent. Restaurant near the busstop is very good.

Great views into this relatively new (in volcanic terms) caldera. Spoiled only by the tennis courts (!!!) built inside the caldera. A nice hike with some steep ascent / descent some of which is in fine sand like ash (imagine walking up a sand dune)....More

Here we where with a tour, and our gide telling about the history of the vulcan. In the crater are now houses or buildings and he told us that this Vulcan will never wake up again.

Since we only live about 15 minutes away and can see it from our backyard we thought we would drive there to see. Just before midday , nice views, easy to find. Best to go at noon on a sunny day.

The caldera is not as big as the most known, but it had almost killed that island in the past. The path to watch it is close to the golf club but don't forget to climb or drive up to the nearest mountain.
