Nice walk with a great view

We took the longer hike (ca. 3 hours) to the Mirador and back. It's a bit challenging when you're not trained, but the forest is really beautiful and the view upstairs as well.

Natural beauty at its best. Definitely a must.

Was not that excited about the Mirador, but the walk was absolutely incredible. Loved the vegetation, walking through the rainforest was definitely a stunning experience. Navigating was fairly easy as well, there are signposts along the pathways. Make sure to wear proper shoes though, as some rocks can get quite slippery at times. All in all, a fantastic experience. Would definitely come back for another hike.

Must see on the island!
Aug 2019 • Couples
This rainforest is a must see in my opinion. We did the complete hike in just 5 hours. Amazing how silent it is here, almost no other tourists around. The parking space is very small however so arrive early or later on the day when the morning hikers are gone. Temperature is good in the forest itself even when it's 30°C.

Not a very exciting walk

Went somewhere similar on La Gomera and it was much nicer. Walks are cool but not massively different throughout. View from the Mirador a bit disappointing.

Excellent walk, well signposted and easy to get to
Mar 2019 • Couples
Excellent walk, which was well signposted. Fairly good walking surface but a little slippery in the wet - definitely wear proper walking shoes or boots. Bring good waterproofs or an umbrella. We combined this with LP5.1, which connects to it. Easy to get to as on a main bus route. No toilet facilities at the car park, tourist information office or on the walk itself.

Also, the staff member in the information office, Miguel, was very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. He is a credit to his job.

How special!

I absolutely loved this walk! I was there one week ago, this year is a very dry one in La Palma, so not much water and probably not as lush as it would be under normal conditions.
However, the ferns, the forest, the ravine and the overall atmosphere were totally amazing and at points one really felt like in Jurassic park. I will definitely return there!

I stopped seeing the information points after some time. From the Mirador I wrongly returned the same way I arrived as I did not see an indicator for the short way back to the information point. Probably because I did not walk all the way down the man made gravel Mirador path.
I recommend walking boots for this walk. Not necessary but useful at the upper part of the walk and definitely in wet weather.

Proper Boots essential for points beyond the marked path - or choose a dry spell
Jan 2019
We took a bus from Santa Cruz (2.40 euros) and found the bus stop easily (it's between two tunnels and there is a small car park).
The guide showed us a map of the path to the summit and we were keen to follow this all the way round even though it had rained the night before and were warned it was steep ad slippery as a result.
The shady walk up the path well marked and although parts are steep it's a very pleasant walk with key areas identified. The views between the greenery are good and we were keen to reach the summit but as soon as we reached the end of the guided path it became very wet and slippery. We continued through the arch shown in the picture and beyond where the path varies from being boulders to having well marked steps. Once it became very wet again we decided to turn around which was a shame. Another time we will have walking boots not walking shoes.
The guided walk with a booklet there and back is about 2 hours

Great walk and view
Jan 2018 • Couples
The tranquility of this walk combined with the special view from the summit make it a must for any visit to La Palma. Very well signposted in general, just ignore the temptation to loop left at waypoint 9, continue straight on up.
