The Anaga mountains situated to the northwest of La Laguna do not feel anything like the rest of Tenerife. Steep and largely uninhabited they boast prime rainforest, mostly a thick jungle of laurel trees. This was our warm-up hike before climbing Teide the day after. We set out to hike from a viewpoint at Carmen de la Cruz to the... More

Have a great time traveling around these mountains. I liked that there was not so much tourists, but the mountains are magical. If you have a rented card. Spent here a half of day. There is a lot of spots to stop and admire of an amazing view.

For Mountains of Anaga I used a trail no. 25 on the map "Tenerife on foot." Very nice trail with many cactuses and other beautiful plants

You enter into a magical relic forest, yet seen dinosaurs, wade through thickets of ferns, intertwined trunks covered with moss, and suddenly the ocean views with a cliffs. Unforgettable trip!

Most of the tourists reside in the south around the beaches. Trips are made tot big parks like LORO PARQUE and the Teide Volcano. But Tenerife has more! The northside is very green. Anaga rural is amazing, with plenty of hiking trails (and...free of charge!). Go there when in Tenerife en discover that Tenerife is more then beaches and a... More

Tenerife enjoys year round sunshine and has many beautiful beaches to explore, but you MUST see the Anaga Mountains! We hired a car and with the help of a map, we explored this beautiful area. There are stunning views to see, little villages, you disappear into the clouds. Simply wonderful. Allow 3 hours at least. We had lunch in San... More

My son and I went with an arranged group for a 3 1/2 hour walk through the mountains to the 'cave village' We were picked up and then stopped at La Lunna for the guide to buy our picnic while we had 30 minutes to look around the local food market Then up to the hills dropped off in a... More

If you rented a car you should know that the road is great, with wonderful landscapes. Once you reach a high altitude you will enjoy the experience of passing through the clouds! It's an amazing place that you should not miss! You can go to Taganana, where you can enjoy the spectacular beach and the delicious sea-food plates.

we took the tenerife highlights VIP tour booked through Thomson holidays, The tour was in 4 wheel drives 3 following each other. Ours was a modern landrover which was very comfortable just 6 of us and the driver. The guide Frankie was in the first vehicle and the commentary was relayed by way of 2 way radio. We received a...
