There was a bit of confusion when I went in to book this trip, as the rep began talking about busses and taxis. After a while I understood that 'most' people get dropped off at the small town of Masca at the top of the...More

The history of Masca - involving pirates and history - is very interesting and the valley is a must visit to appreciate how life was back then. Do try the cactus ice cream when you are there!

What a beautiful part of the island - stunning scenery abounds as we drove down (or up) the mountain in our car. Shedloads of hairpin bends on a road that seemed about 4 feet wide with small roadside kerbstones preventing you from hurtling down the...More

A great trip, stunning views but BE AWARE... At the viewpoints and on the trails there are (I guess) organized groups of pickpockets who manage to take your belongings from your backpack, purse or car. Our car stopped at a view point was locked but...More

I can't say that Masca was a hidden gem as it still has the tourist buses and the tourist trinkets. However, the drive and the views are really quite something. The drive: bendy narrow and steep. And not for the first day if you usually...More

Firstly the drive is a test of your nerve. Multiple hair pin bends single track road in many areas. But this is so worth it lovely little village overlooking a casm of a ravine. Great place to have a coffee overlooking this magnificent beautiful area

We thought about doing this on our own, since we rented a car, but decided to book a tour with Sun Holidays. Unless you really need to save money, I dont think it is worth it. Our guide was really good. We were provided water,...More

We have visited Masca with big hopes. I cannot say we regret but the effort, distance and difficult road pay you back a very tiny village with some views and three shops. We were told that it use to be a pirate village. Stories sell....More

Such a strange mix. This is a great 3.5 to 4 hrs hike. I opted to take taxis from Los Gigantes for 23 Euros instead of driving myself after hearing horror stories on drive. It also made sense because even if you drove you have...More

If you aren't there already, I can tell you I have been a couple of times at Christmas and the weather was always good. Never below 70. If you are a nervous driver, I would recommend you don't hire a car. The roads are... More
