We used this plaza as a focal point for exploring out from and then returning to base, so to speak. Fairly quiet when we were there which obviously helped. Lots of character in and around it.

This is a great place to meet people because it is right in the centre of the city. Close to all activities and a nice place to relax and look at the water, and take a photo with the I love Santa Cruz sign.

The central point of the city. There are concerts and events during weekends. From this point you can have a walk up the street where are shops and coffee bars.

Our hotel was next to the Plaza Espana so we spent a fair amount of time there enjoying the many restaurants and shops as well as visiting the underground museum which is free and the information center next to the beautiful artificial pond.

All streets seem to lead off this square and you need to visit if staying here for any length of time. Dominated by the Cross and large monumental buildings. Good restaurants around as well as tourist information and some lovely promenade.

We happened upon this Plaza by chance one evening. Several restaurants and shops close to the waterfront. If you are in the area, it's definitely worth a stop!

Loved paddling and sitting in the sun. A gorgeous feature along the town front. Cafe aside the water was nice too.
