During our traveling along the shore we saw those statues . When we read about it, we revealed a sad story of those kids. A word of caution: there is no fence nearby, keep your kids so that they would not fell to the water.

We walked from the ferry port into the town and passed this. Viewing is restricted by the fact on one side there is a barrier so you compete with people for the best view of it. It's quirky. Rated Number 9 in the city says...More

Interesting bronze models of young boys diving into the water. all standing / sitting in various stages of diving. Inscription in Spanish - and shamefully I can't speak a word of spanish. like most places in the area - there is no other language interpretation

Came across them when taking a stroll alongside the sea. They look quite realistic and are to scale and you can imagine boys diving into the sea for the coins thrown in for them.

We almost missed the Monumento a Los Raqueros, as we walked down towards the town from the beaches, but the sun caught on polished bronze and we were lucky. The group of young boys is so skilfully depicted, larking about by the water side, and...More

A joyous group celebrating Santander's history. A group of small divers waiting to dive for coins, an activity that took place some years ago when passenger ships called.

They attract a lot of attention, from the moment we saw them we knew that we wanted to know more about them.

It's a statue. We walked by it and said, that's interesting, and then we continued on our way. Not something to go out of your way for.
