We expected to see more of the Alcázar, but it the museum is way more important. There are only two places to go outside and have a good view on the Alcázar.

Spectacular vistas from this mountainside redoubt. You got to be in shape to walk it though. You walk down steep streets which is fine. It is the uptown walk that gets you. Take a bus.

The views from the Alcázar is breathtaking, we decided to walk uphill to see it, are we glad we were there in May, Spanish summers can be brutal.

Massive museum about the Spanish army, with many model soldiers! Roman cisterns beneath the museum. Big courtyard and terraces with great views.Great cafe with good well priced food.

If you are interested in history, especially militia history, this place is for you. The best part is miniature soldiers section. Toledo is a small town so you would enjoy your visit for sure.
