One of my favorite places in Toledo

So beautiful and an easy must see in Toledo. It's cheap to get in and while not very large it's very pretty. Great for photos and won't take too long to look around!

Beautiful former Synagogue now owned by the church. Under restoration, with beautiful architectural features. We were luck enough to be there for one of only 3 annual celebrations open to the public! After a moving performance of chanting and song from priests and nuns, we were all included in a rousing dance around the perimeter of the nave and treated... More

We did enjoy our short visit here. Don't plan too much time in your itinerary for this. Staff was very helpful.

Jewish synagogue designed by a muslim and sponsored by a christian. A good place to see that all these religions can coexist and cooperate.

I have a feeling that this is one of the 'lesser' attractions that are covered under a special discount pass but it is certainly not worth the same entrance fee as other nearby fabulous attractions. The building itself is lovely to look at in particular the carved capitals on the columns but after 5 minutes of wandering through there is... More

This was a lovely piece of architecture, but there was little to inform visitors of its history. It is in effect a large room with white pillars, and unless you know a lot about its past, you'll probably be a bit disappointed. Some temporary exhibitions would really go a long way to helping people understand the buildings past, and as... More

First of all, the name of this Synagogue is Santa Maria la Blanca, and this is because the synagogue became a church during the inquisition. It is Mudejar in design and is said to be the oldest remaining (former) synagogue in Europe--built in the 1100's. It has an aisle lined by Moorish style arches on both sides, and there is... More

This is a lovely building in Toledo - not easy to find but well worth the walk. It is no longer used a a place of worship but more of an historic site and a glimpse into the past when 3 religions existed together in harmony. A visit in Toledo is not complete without spending time in the old Jewish... More

The ancient synagogue of Toledo was taken over by the Christian, but now it is not used for any worship at all. It is a national historic site, and the many arches and detail work are a beautiful piece of Judeo-Spanish history,
