Overview
More
The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a monumental church devoted to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Construction began in 1882, based on plans drawn up by the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, and Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to continue the project in 1883. The Temple has always been an expiatory church, built only from donations. As Gaudi said: "The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the site as a minor basilica.

This is one of the most wonderful church! Joining diverse styles looks incredible! Colours mozaics, fours towers looks like build from sand and weirness from the back side is really fantastic! Must to see in Barcelona!

Make sure to pre book your tickets. You can’t just arrive and enter. Once inside take the time to sit down and admire the place. Later in the afternoon is a good time to see the sun shine through the stained glass windows.

Truly superb. Doesn't detract that it's not finished. You can only marvel at how good it will be when finished. Must come back to see the finished product.

The guided tour turned out great. Very knowledgeable guide with headsets provided so that we could always hear her on a local channel. We were there on a Tuesday and it was very busy. Fortunately, I had pre-purchased tickets online from the SagradaFamilia.org website which...More

A stunning monument well worth a visit if in Barcelona. We took the English guided tour with advance online booking which is highly recommended given the queue outside the monument. The guided tour was quite informative and interesting.

A great must see Gaudi's monument. Just read a bit - and schedule a visit. (preferable - a guided tour, to ensure a more profound site capture.)

It’s always busy. If you want to ensure a particular timeslot, buy your tickets in advance from the website and include the option for the Passion tower.

Tickets are time sensitive. I would recommend purchasing your ticket on line for an entry date and time that will allow you to arrive from the port comfortably. There is a 15 min window for each time slot. The metro is how... More
