The area
Address
Neighbourhood: El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.

As an historic building its worth a visit. As a performance venue it was a disaster with zero consideration for it's patrons. Went to see the Gran gala flamenco company. People were not let in for one half hour past the scheduled time and then when we were led to our box seats our seats in front were touching the front wall of the box seats with zero room for our legs. I do not exaggerate we could not even sit sideways as the chairs in front were right next to each other. When we complained to the people running the show they shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do. At this point we left as it was clear we would not be getting any help from the staff. and they claimed there was no one from management to assist. Yes we are upset over wasting our money for unusable seats but more importantly we had been looking forward to this event and will now remember this fiasco as a stain on our otherwise good experiences in Barcelona. If you plan to attend a performance beware, box seats are not better seats and any problems you may encounter will be ignored. Shame on them for such careless treatment of their customers.

Expensive. Beautiful. Staff super unfriendly. It’s been on my to do list for a while. Glad I made the effort but really? I get that tourists are annoying but hey, we actually contribute to the economy.

This music venue is absolutely beautiful to see! The big negative was the audio guide. It was very glitchy and not easy for someone not knowing Spanish to use. Just go and soak it in and not worry about the guide - did not find it gave much info anyway. Also right now the exterior is being completely renovated and you cannot see anything of the facade

Easy enough. Go directly to ticket office and they will give you further directions. We scanned the self guide. This was something new but it was relatively easy to access and it worked well. Very interesting building.

The place is absolutely beautiful and worth the view. However the balcony was closed when I visited, which is a bit disappointing, but still the main room is impressive !

I came to Barcelona to see Gaudi’s works of art and discovered Luis Domenech I Montaner. His Palace of Music is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. A guided or audio tour is a great introduction to the Modernista movement in Spain. If you get a chance attend a concert. We attended an incredible flamenco show. We had box seats with fantastic views of the performers. You must reserve entry tickets and concert tickets in advance. We got ours before we left the USA.

I spent two weeks in Barcelona, and I feel this was the most impressive building I saw (after Sagrada Familia, of course). It's beautifully designed and historically/culturally interesting, with a nice café downstairs (that's open even to non-visitors). It's also not that enormous, so a great visit might take about 90-120 minutes.
