Stumbled upon this when exploring the city. Even though we did not go inside from the outside you were able to appreciate the beauty of the place. The little shop they have attached has some wonderful pieces for you to buy to take home.

Beautiful building and amazing artwork in the stained glass and the columns. I would love to see a musical performance here. The pipe organ was huge and Bach's Toccata in D minor was awesome.

If part of your 'must see' trips in Barcelona are all the Gaudi places, consider going to the Palau de la Musica if you have time left. It really is a breathtaking building. You can get a guided tour- quite pricey, but interesting- or you might just find a music concert you fancy and see the building that way. Either... More

We had a lovely tour of the Opera House. The tour started with a 10 minute video about the history, followed by photos on the balcony, which resembles Gaudi's work and the concert hall. It was really special to hear an Opera piece being played while you're seated in the audience. I recommend booking ahead for the tours (even a... More

Never come to Barcelona without taking in a performance at this Domenech creation. All seats are good, acoustics excellent and even if you are not a music aficionado you will enjoy leaning back and absorbing your surroundings without music in the background. While there take in the lobby cafe for its decoration. It's a bit hidden but basically off the... More

Through VIATOR, I booked a performance at Palau de la Musica in Barcelona on March 21. I will never book a performance through VIATOR again. We went to the ticket office in the afternoon and they had no record of our purchase. We had to stand there at least 20 minutes for them to straighten out the situation. We did... More

I had a drink and snack prior to a concert in this stunning concert hall. I took my seat as soon as it opened so that I could take pictures before the rest of the audience came in. If there is a concert when you visit Barcelona, you should make this a priority.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
