Our walking tour with Pia was a highlight of our time in Barcelona. English is a first language for her yet she is as fluent in several others so relates intimately to a number of cultures, besides her broad and deep knowledge of history and architecture. An architect herself, she explained technical aspects of different dome shapes and so on in a way that a lay person gained a good, fundamental understanding of changes over time. I will definitely seek out more of these tours on our next visit to Barcelona.

200% recommend to everyone. Definitely a big cherry on top of the “regular” Barça tourist stops. Maybe do this first before seeing the other stuff to get a solid foundational knowledge.

Pia did such a wonderful job!!! Someone mentioned the tour is “a graduate-level class in architecture and history”; I think that is a very very high praise and I agree with it 100%.

We learned a TON of information, and having a map of Barcelona to compare with really helped solidify those concepts. Now the way the city looks makes so much more sense, and I can’t walk past those buildings noticing the details!

I did two of the walking tours with Pia while I was in Barcelona and they were fantastic. I learned so much about the history and evolution of the city. Pia shared great insight and perspectives. I would highly recommend these tours to anyone considering - you really get to see Barcelona through a unique lens.

Very informative tour with interesting and pertinent personal perspective. Pia has extensive knowledge of not only architecture - but history, sociology, culture and politics. Her background and frame of reference made for a very thorough educational and entertaining experience.
Thank you !

Pia was so knowledgeable and articulate. I learned a lot more than I expected to and it piqued my interest to learn more. The pace was comfortable for my 82 year old body and the company was great.

One of the most informative tours I had on my three-week long trip in Spain and Portugal. Carmen was insightful and knowledgeable; I learned a lot. This was about more than Gaudi. I highly recommend it to folks who are interested in architecture, urban planning and arts.

Our experience with Guille was splendid. We toured the Hospital Sant Pau -- with friends, both of whom are American physicians -- and La Sagrada Familia, both absolutely splendid, and Guille was a brilliant guide: extremely well-informed, friendly, organized, and extremely articulate. Our morning with him could not have been more rewarding, and the sights themselves are, of course, unforgettable.

Our afternoon with Pia was splendid -- she has a astonishing depth and range of knowledge of Barcelona architecture and history, and she led us to many extraordinary and fascinating (and hidden) spots we never would have found on our own (including, incidentally, a spot for refreshment at the best gelato in Barcelona!). She was friendly and funny and entertaining, as well as informative, and we felt we had a made a friend by the end of our time together. She enriched our experience of the city beyond measure. We highly recommend Pia and Barcelona Architecture Tours.

Even though I've been using TripAdvisor for many years, I've not left a review before, as I have never been so pleased with a tour guide. Carmen was well prepared, with an engaging delivery style and gave us a very thorough tour. We had in-depth discussions on the history of urban planning, the Modernisme movement, and of course, the life and work of Gaudi. She showed interior photos and blue prints of the buildings we visited and we even stopped at some lesser known architectural gems. We had a short, well timed bathroom & coffee break at Casa Amatller during the tour. The whole thing was very well organized and we hope to return someday to take another tour with Barcelona Architecture Walks.
