We walked through the park after a long morning of sightseeing on our way to the beach area. It was really pretty, quiet, and relaxing with plenty to see and benches to rest our weary feet.

The parc de la ciutadella is a nice place: you can rest there under the trees in a hot day, it's one of the few green parts of town (in the past it used to be the only one!), and you can look for the...More

Firstly we've almost skipped this, thinking that it's nothing really special, but when eventually went there, we were sooo impressed! Cool place to have a picnic or just chill somewhere in the shadow- totally worth going!

How did I miss this the first time around? I guess I was focused on Gaudi and Picasso, not on the natural gems that are more about living and being in a city. How things change when you travel with a kid.

The ambience created the sound of wildlife and everyday life interacting with each other makes this park a very peaceful location to rest for a little while. Beautiful art pieces placed around the park and ponds make this park a wonderfully peaceful place.

Ciutadella / Vila Olimpica
The sounds of Marina Olympica's rocking boats and
clicking mastheads swaying to and fro set an
impressive backdrop for Ciutadella and Villa Olimpica.
Follow the aromas of garlic, wine, and fresh local
fish to the various restaurants running along the
marina. A grand bronze fish statue soaring high above
serves as a beacon to those searching for the renowned
Casino Barcelona or the extremely popular nightclubs

Not only dogs on leads but one lady was walking a pig on a lead which she let off to rummage around the lawns! The dogs were rather curious.
