Come to stroll the wide boulevards and look at the lovely modernista buildings - a complete contrast to the the Barri Gotic and other older parts of the city

Luckily our hotel was in this area, a great place to feel like a local. Good time to visit local shops with Easter chocolates and cafes

Our AirBnB was in L'Eixample. It was a perfect location to walk nearly everywhere. Many lovely tapas bars and bakeries. Pleasant to wander and feel the sophistication and history of Barcelona.

A nice, safe area of the city with some good hotels. Good restaurants and tapas bars abound. Within 15 minute walk of the Gothic quarter.

The district is a beautifully planned and exceptional grid with chamfered corners, which admit incredible light to each intersection. In fact, the whole neighbourhood is well-lit naturally, despite the proportions of the buildings (averaging 8 storeys). It's, probably the prettiest part of Barcelona, and and...More

A bit of inspired 19c early and deliberate town planning. The old city walls where taken down and Barcelona grew to the north and very fast. Private developers built the regular pattern of roads and the better quality of rented apartment blocks that now face...More

Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you
enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally
translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes
recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant
atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district,
Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end
international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the
glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best

I used AirBnB and there are many good locations around the area. The one I stayed at was practically a hotel.
