We went down this area to see the Barcelona Harbor and all the boats. Lots of boats and some really expensive ones as well. This is located right next to the harbor and Gotic Quarter. I believe there is a large mall down this way as well.

Barcelona is such a cool place, the beach is not very far away especially by Metro. We went on a beautiful day and it ended up being really Sunny. There was a lot to see such as a giant mall, small street vendors, and restaurants. We ended up eating at Can Mano who has the BEST paella. It's such a... More

Take the metro just a few more stops to the east and go to the beach there, it's not as filled with people.

It was really windy when we visited. There's not much shelter. The prom is lovely to walk along, with plenty of showers and toilets.

I'm not sure quite what to make of this busy but not really separately identifiable area, it's area of some very expensive restaurants and stunning yachts but also cheaper places to eat and a lot of jostling crowds going to and from the beach, and 'fly by night' traders with blankets on the ground. A place to pass through rather... More

If your schedule is tight then I will pass. If you have time and want to take a stroll along the harbor for a change of pace then it is worth it. Look out for the Roy Lichtenstein sculpture.

A very nice beach. It was calm and peaceful. There were a lot of vendors their trying to sell drinks and snacks. As soon as the police showed up they scattered. It did not take away from the beauty of the beach. It is very free no body shaming. I really enjoyed relaxing and swimming there.

The area is lovely with the harbour and the local markets and restaurants but avoid the beach area! It's full of blanket sales men and beggers trying to sell you stuff and they will walk passed every 3 minutes which is annoying! Go further up the beaches - it's worth the walk to the Olympic parc where the sand is... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
