You get to shop for ingredients. You get to cook your own food. You learn from someone who knows about cooking. These are things I look for when I take cooking classes. I don't want to watch someone do it all in front of me. I compared this to other cooking classes in BCN and this was the only one... More

What a great experience. Started by visiting the Boqueria Market (large market off La Rambla) to buy ingredients for the class. Next we were introduced to the menu and recipes for the dishes. There were only 6 in our class, which make it very nice. We each selected a dish to prepare. The grand slam was finishing up the Paella.... More

This was definitely one of our favorite activities my husband and I did on our honeymoon. Food is such a huge part of every culture, and I feel like a cooking class is a perfect way to dive in to a new place. We had a blast with Chef Lalo learning some traditional Spanish dishes, got to hang out with... More

Oh, what fun! Chef Stefano walked the class to the La Boqueria market to collect ingredients for our meal. We prepared, hands on, a full meal, complete with dessert and wine pairings. If you love to cook AND eat, I highly recommend taking a class.

Get ready to experience Barcelona with all five senses. The Boquiera market is an experience all by itself. The tour begins with history of the market and a personalized shopping experience for the required ingredients. The amount of fresh produce and meat is enough to make you never want to leave. The kitchen is setup with views over looking the... More

I strongly recommend to spend a nice morning visiting the market and preparing an excellent typical Spanish lunch. Thanks to the friendly and professional Italian chef !

I totally enjoyed the Cooking Class I attended. Our instructor was knowledgable and friendly and the trip to the Market was like a guided tour of the city! I learned so much and had so much fun preparing the meal and of course eating everything we had made! I can't wait to try out the recipes on my friends here... More

I highly recommend Barcelona Cooking as a great way to spend an afternoon. After spending 45 minutes shopping for ingredients in La Boqueria, we returned to the kitchen to begin preparations for a wonderful meal. Our chef, Stephano patiently explained and demonstrated the techniques to properly prepare each ingredient and then guided us as we attempted to duplicate his methods.... More

I, female single traveller, joined one of the Saturday classes and it was such a great idea! The teacher was very welcoming and although the rest of the group was in groups he created a very friendly comfortable atmosphere. The tour of the market was excellent. He was very knowledgable, informative and engaging. The class went on very smoothly. I... More

My wife and I took the Catalan Tapas and Wine Class on our recent visit to Barcelona and had a wonderful experience. Chef Candido took us to La Boqueria market and explained about some of the foods we would use in the class. The class itself was fun and while everyone does not individually cook a dish, it is very... More

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
