A must do when visiting Girona. It was a bit hard to find the stairs up but worth it. Free, narrow, quiet and amazing lookout points.

Beautiful views over the city and as far as the Pyrenees mountains. You can look down into the back gardens of the houses near the wall and see the most important landmarks in Girona. On a good day, especially in winter you can see the...More

Enjoyed wandering along the ancient walls, with some fine views looking into the old city, and also looking out. Several beautiful garden spaces right along the walls. It was especially nice in the early morning, before the heat, and before there more than a few...More

A bit of a climb to get there, we only walked some of the way but some of the views of the old town were fantastic!

Best to do in the cool of the morning or evening as it is so exposed, but as you descend off the wall into several of the lovely gardens then you are in bliss.

A great way to view the old town and enjoy spectacular views across to the Pyrenees. Beautiful. A free attraction and not to be missed.

Absolutely lovely walk along these walls. It is well preserved and you get some amazing views of Girona. It isn't a strenuous walk although there are some stairs involved but manageable. Small pockets of pretty greenery, could have a little picnic! Don't miss this, it...More

It is definitely worth to climb up there. What a vista. This spectacular view to a city is memorable. Don’t forget to take a camera with and share your pictures from there.

We walked the entire wall in about 45 minutes, with a toddler and a stroller that we had to carry up and down stairs. It's such an amazing experience to walk the wall and see Girona from this vantage point. If you have the energy,...More

Lovely little morning stroll along the walls. We went up behind the cathedral and it was beautiful. Loads of vantage points to see beautiful Girona. I’d seen loads of reviews on here saying it takes a couple of hours. That’s total rubbish. We walked from...More

I would include Besalu. Take the bus from just off the Passeig de Gracia. Take the bus from there to Girona and train back to Barcelona. Very nice day trip.

I agree with the prior answer and would add that there is often live musicians in the ruins/park behind the cathedral. It is slightly uphill from the back of the church. Girona is a world class bicycling City, I would find a... More

This is a great place to visit. It is not a complete wall around the old city. In other words, you do not end up where you started. You can start at either end, but the wall slopes slightly so if you start at one end you... More
