A small but interesting collection of exhibits. I'm not sure if the word 'modern' in the title of this gallery has informed (or inspired) the decision makers on what should hang there or be exhibited. Much of what I saw was indeed modern, but that was many, many decades ago. There simply must be more modern artists in the Tarragona... More

This gallery which offers free admission provides an excellent opportunity to view the works of regional artists. It features a fabulous Miro tapestry accompanied by preliminary drawings and information on the making of this unique piece. The second floor dedicated a significant amount of space to a a late 19th century artist with whom I was unfamiliar but hugely impressed by.... A small museum. The exhibits are ok but not a great deal that I would class as outstanding except a Miro. You only need 1hr to visit and good for a rainy day

Access to the modern art of Tarragona.Opportunity to quietly ponder see Miro tapestry. See a video of Tarragona(main street history). In an old building with modern architecture for a relaxing contemplation. Museum - free of charge.

Worth visiting for the architecture of the building as much as the collection. It's a beautiful, cool space filled with largely unknown work by regional artists, although there is a Miro tapestry, donated to the town in thanks for the care given to his daughter after a road accident. There is also a nice craft area for small children. It... More

I visited this museum one day when it was a bit rainy and cold. I decided to go purely based on the fact it had free entrance. There was a nice temporary exhibit on a female painter and her name unfortunately escapes me now. The rest of the museum was very interesting with a range of sculpture, paintings, mixed media,... I am not a modern art fan but the museum was free so we went in with open minds. This was a wonderful experience. Good information in English and well thought out. Take your camera as you will be surprised by what you like. Some very thought provoking art work. Well worth a visit. We even returned a second time.

I'm not really into modern art but they have some really quite impressive pieces by local artists. Obviously the exhibitions change but, at the time of going, it had some lovely collections, nice and quiet and, best of all, free! Definitely worth a visit if you have an hour or so to kill in the old town, or it's bad... More

Exploring Tarragona and walked by this museum. I am not a fan of the modern movement, but this place was different. You have the usual portraits. The sculptures were fabulous and also the tapestries. They had many of the limestone blocks from the amphitheater as a foundation. Lot od different treasures.

This museum is right in the centre of the old town. Air conditioned and free to visit. There is a family room where children can make picture from coloured card.
