I feel lucky to have been there! It is an impressive place for lovers of good design when it comes to museums or contemporary art spaces. It is close to Legazpi metro station. In the corner you can take a beer cane at the end of your tour. 100% recommended for artists, designers, and lovers of good spaces of artistic... More

Near the metro station Legazpi, renovated like an old factory. The mood is special, it is worth to go there only in the afternoon and evening, when organise a lot of program.

The Matadero is the old slaughter house located along the river and near the metro stop Legazpi, now converted to a cultural and art center. Its a large complex of several low buildings containing exhibit, theatre, and film showing spaces, workshops, outdoor performance areas, and probably more. It being about 2:00 when we arrived from strolling the adjacent Madrid Rio... More

The 'Matadero' built in 1924, with many alterations over the years, was revamped after being closed for years in 2006 and is now a Contemporary Art Centre. The centre offers exhibitions, rooms for events, cafeteria among other attractions. It is interesting to see if there is something being shown that is of your interest. Otherwise probably not worth going to... More

Here you will find different cultural offers for everybody. Variety and interesting place to discover even if its just to look around to explore what it has to offer.

I admit to being disturbed that this was once a slaughter house. But I suppose everyone has to eat. This is an impressive example of re-use of a building, and the architecture itself is lovely and in really good condition. I stopped by here on a bike tour, so we didn't have much time, however, saw some exhibits and talked... More

This prominently located slaughter house has reinvented itself as a wonderfully inspired cultural hub. Its grim origins have been subject to some intelligent architectural interventions which subtly blends new forms onto the original. The result is a focus for exhibitions theatre dance film and fashion together with cultural industry offices. When we visited there was a deeply impressive photo exhibition... More

New and trendy, if you have several days in Madrid go see it, there are galleries, cinema, food and local markets now and then, and I´m pretty sure there are more activities. Its more a place for locals, who live there and know whats going on, but as a tourist you will always find something to see and the place... More
