To the west of the city of Madrid this large area is the place for a weekend holiday for the Madrileños. As a park I don´t find it very attractive, but it offers an attraction park, the zoo and aquarium and a ‘teleférico’.

I didn't see a swimming area in the lake itself, but there is a fabulous open air swimming pool right next to the late at the back of the Lago Metro station. it costs €4.50 for the day and well worth checking out.
