Disappointed with the plants and flowers as we expected much more colour with such a warm climate. It did not seem particularly well maintained either.

It is well shaded and easy to walk through the whole place in 20 minutes. Many flowering plants were starting to bloom when I was there. But Retiro Park was more better than Royal Garden

We had a few hours to use before we had to catch our ride to the airport and decided to wander through the Botanic Garden as it was relatively close to our B & B. It's relatively inexpensive (4€) and the line to get in...More

It's worth popping in here of you're nearby - although it is 4 euros per person entry - as it is a prett place for a stroll.

We visited here by accident. Thought we were at Retiro park which is excellent. Can't say the same for the botanical gardens. Very little in bloom. Areas looked like they needed attention. No vine over the arbour. Greenhouses and exhibitions interesting though. But I would...More

This is quite a big garden with a good variety of plants, flowers and trees. There is information in English for most things. There is also an exhibition hall onsite that host various works from various artists. I feel you can walk the garden in...More

We gave it a go (early June '17) but everything seemed to be dying or needed a good tidy up. A really poor attraction by the rest of Madrid's standards. Cost just €4 each to get in, but it looks like it needs a lot...More

There are trees and plants which have interest all year but in the late spring when the peonies, roses and irises are in bloom, it is particularly attractive. There is a fee to get in but it is not prohibitive.

In full bloom in the spring/summer (and pretty well shaded, too). In the winter, I've heard it's pretty dead. Make sure you visit the two greenhouses in the back, and walk along the upper level of the rainforest and desert one - quite a unique...More

Not much was in bloom when I was there, mane the sunny areas looked very parched. I saw lots of gardeners, but also a ton of weeds. That said, they did have a very diverse selection of plants, shrubs and trees.

Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard
is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The
world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the
Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and
culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On
weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free
after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue
of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de
