The Parque Minero is well signposted, has a big car park and helpful staff with good English. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there are English language tours starting at 11.45. Book in advance via the website. We arrived early and were directed to the mining museum in the town, a 10 min walk away. We were so engrossed in the museum... More

Visited on a Tuesday as we wanted the English speaking tour. We had a young man as our guide who spoke good English and was very knowledgable about the history of the mine. We started with a 5 minute film about the mine then proceeded to board the motorised train that took us to the top of the mountain. Once... More

A hidden gem, is the best word. The mines are open on a regular basis, however only two times a week with an English tour (Tuesdays and Thursdays). You first get to see a small but informative small video, after which you enter a small train and drive up the hill past some old mining equipment. They currently have 3... More

I have been visiting the area for 13 years and so glad that this has opened, we visited last year as a family of 4 and it cost less that €40, there is a short video and then an old mining train trip unto the entrance, underground is just fascinating, especially the flamenco stage and the underground river, it is... We took the tour which included a short film in the visitor center. The tram takes you up the hillside to the mine entrance. At the entrance you are given a helmet and enter the pyrites mine. It was interesting to see the difficult conditions the miners had to endure in their work. The mine restoration is well done. At... More

We walked from the base at la Union to the top of the mountain and half way down. We didn't go into the mines we just did the walk which was amazing. However our biggest problem was that all of the sign posts had been destroyed so not quite sure which way to go so decided to turn back since... More

Almost loses a star, because booking is a challenge and the web site often inaccurate. However the Parque Minero is fascinating and well presented. It's well worth the effort. I had wondered for years what all the mining activity in the region was and this finally explained it. The tour takes you underground, with displays of all the processes involved.... More

Nice way to spend a morning if you fancy a break from the beach. Our guide was very knowledgable and his English language skills were excellent and much better than my Spanish, I would have struggled to follow the tour in Spanish, lots of new vocabulary.

First of all you have to book. You can do this by email from their website. Not the easiest place to find but signposted from the town centre. The car park is huge so no problems there. One you have paid you watch a short video and then take the train (aka-walleye trolley) up to the mine entrance. Views are... More

Visited this attraction today having sent an email yesterday but despite no response took the chance that they would be running a trip today. Arrived late morning and explained I had sent an email, the member of staff could find no trace but added my details to a mailing list for future events such as flamenco which is put on... More
